Complement receptor type 2 (aka CD21) is a receptor for various ligands including complement C3 fragments (iC3b, C3dg, C3d), Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) glycoprotein gp350/220, CD23, and IFN-alpha. CD21 is expressed on B cells and follicular dendritic cells and plays a role in B-cell activation and subsequent immune responses.
