Anti-CD104 (Integrin beta4), clone 2Q794

Human beta4 integrin, also known as CD104, is a 205kD glycoprotein. It associates with the alpha6 integrin to form the alpha6/beta4 complex. CD104 is expressed on epithelial cells, Schwann cells and various tumor cell lines. Applications: Suitable for use in Inhibition of Cell Attachment, Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Inhibition of cell attachment: Inhibits SCC9 cell adhesion to human laminin and laminin GD-2 peptide, but not to EHS laminin, type IV collagen or fibronectin. Does not inhibit SKOV-3 cell adhesion to laminin, fibronectin or type IV collagen. , Immunohistochemistry: On acetone-fixed frozen human epithelial tissues including tongue, foreskin and ovary. Not for use on formalin-fixed tissue. , Flow Cytometry: Stains human squamous cell carcinoma (SCC9), ovarian carcinoma (SKOV-3) and umbilical vein endothelium (HUVEC). Stains RKO or K562 cells transfected for CD104 expression. Does not stain monocytes, neutrophils, lymphocytes, T cells, B cells or platelets. , Immunoprecipitation: Precipitates PAGE bands of 66, 76, 120, 135 and 200kD (reduced) or 66, 110, 125, 130 and 190kD (non-reduced) from surface-biotinylated SCC9 cells. , Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
