Anti-BAFF (BlyS, THANK, TALL 1)

B lymphocyte stimulator (BLyS), a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily of cytokines, induces B-cell proliferation and immunoglobulin secretion and is a key regulator of peripheral B-cell populations in vivo.. BLyS is made by immune-cells called monocytes and macrophages. When monocytes and macrophages are activated, BLyS is released and binds to a receptor found only on B cells. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:500-1:1,000, Western Blot: 1:500-1:1,000, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Mouse FO myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with a recombinant human BLyS protein. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
