Anti-APG5L (Autophagy Protein 5, APG5-like, Apoptosis-specific Protein, ATG5, ASP)

ATG5L is a 275aa protein belonging to the ATG5 family and is required for autophagy. It plays an important role in the apoptotic process, within the modified cytoskeleton. It is known to function in autophagy, contributes to autophagic cell death by interacting with Fas-associated protein with death domain (FADD). It conjugates to ATG12 and associates with isolation membrane to form cup-shaped isolation membrane and autophagosome. Down-regulation of its expression in HeLa cells suppresses cell death and vacuole formation induced by IFN-gamma. It is highly expressed in apoptotic cells. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml, Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 5ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: T98G cell lysate, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
