Anti-ALANINE TRANSAMINASE (ALT), Biotin Conjugated

Alanine Transaminase is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above.  Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Sheep Serum as well as purified and partially purified Alanine Transaminase (ALT) [Pig Heart].  Cross reactivity against Alanine Transaminase (ALT) from other sources is unknown. Protein function: Catalyzes the reversible transamination between alanine and 2-oxoglutarate to form pyruvate and glutamate. Participates in cellular nitrogen metabolism and also in liver gluconeogenesis starting with precursors transported from skeletal muscles. [The UniProt Consortium]
