In 1X PBS, pH 7.4, with 0.09% sodium azide. Alanyl-tRNA synthetase 2 (AARS2) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction: ATP + L-alanine + tRNAAla AMP + diphosphate + L-alanyl-tRNAAla. This enzyme participates in alanine and aspartate metabolism and aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis. Protein function: Catalyzes the attachment of alanine to tRNA(Ala) in a two-step reaction: alanine is first activated by ATP to form Ala- AMP and then transferred to the acceptor end of tRNA(Ala). Also edits incorrectly charged tRNA(Ala) via its editing domain. [The UniProt Consortium]
