Prepared by enzymatic synthesis from N-Acetylglucosamine and Pyruvic Acid. Purified by ion-exchange column chromatography and crystallization. Applications: Suitable for use as substrate for NANA Aldolase and as starting material for preparing NANA derivatives. Appearance: White to off-white powder, Purity (dry basis): > 98%, Solubility (5%, H2O): Colorless, clear, Melting Point: >182°C (dec.) , Specific Rotation:, -32.6° (c=0.5, Water), Storage and Stability: Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
