Fluocinolone acetonide

Fluocinolone acetonide is a synthetic fluorinated corticosteroid that acts as a glucocorticoid receptor agonist (IC50 = 2.0 nM in a radioligand binding assay). It increases transcriptional activity of the glucocorticoid receptor in HeLa cells (EC50 = 0.7 nM). It inhibits VEGF secretion in a dose-dependent manner and decreases TNF-alpha-induced angiogenesis in a chick chorioallantoic membrane assay.
