Proxyphylline

Proxyphylline is a methylxanthine derivative and an adenosine receptor antagonist (Ki = 130 µM). It increases coronary flow in isolated guinea pig perfused heart. Proxyphylline reduces systolic and diastolic blood pressure in spontaneously hypertensive rats when administered at a dose of 50 mg/kg twice per day for nine days.
