GO289 is an inhibitor of casein kinase 2 (CK2, IC50 = 7 nM). It is selective for CK2 over a panel of 59 other kinases at 5 µM. GO289 (8 or 24 µM) increases the circadian period in a reporter assay using U2OS cells. It decreases levels of phosphorylated Akt and cell division cycle 37 (Cdc37) in C2C12 skeletal muscle myoblasts when used at concentrations of 1, 2, 3, or 4 µM.
