The COX-1 (human) Inhibitor Screening Assay directly measures PGF2alpha by stannous chloride reduction of COX-derived PGH2 produced in the COX reaction. The prostanoid product is quantified via ELISA using an antiserum specific to PGF2alpha. This assay includes recombinant human COX-1 and is an excellent tool for general COX-1 inhibitor screening. It will also help to eliminate false positive leads generated by less specific methods.Synonyms: Cyclooxygenase 1. Assay Range: 3.9-500 pg/ml. Sensitivity: 10 pg/ml. Mid-point: 40-60 pg/ml. Origin: Animal/Eel, Animal/Rabbit, Animal/Bovine.
