Recombinant Rat IL-6 is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 187aa and having a molecular weight of 21.7kD. The sequence of the first five N-terminal aa was determined to be Met-Phe-Pro-Thr-Ser. Contains less than 1% dimers and aggregates. Source: E. coli, Molecular Weight: ~21.7kD, Biological Activity: The ED50 as determined by dose-dependent stimulation of murine 7TD1 cells is <0.01ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of 1x10e8IU/mg. Endotoxin: <0.1ng/ug , Storage and Stability:, Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O, 0.1% HSA or BSA. Aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
