Human VEGF-D Protein

Recombinant Human VEGF-D Protein is expressed from HEK293 with His tag at the C-terminus.It contains Phe89-Arg205. Vascular endothelial growth factor-D (VEGF-D) is a secreted glycoprotein that can activate VEGF receptors on the endothelium, is a mitogen for endothelial cells and promotes the growth and remodeling of blood vessels and lymphatic vessels. VEGF-D, as with other members of the VEGF family, falls within a structural superfamily of growth factors containing a cystine knot motif, which involves a highly distinctive clustered arrangement of three intrasubunit cystine bridges. Protein function: Growth factor active in angiogenesis, lymphangiogenesis and endothelial cell growth, stimulating their proliferation and migration and also has effects on the permeability of blood vessels. May function in the formation of the venous and lymphatic vascular systems during embryogenesis, and also in the maintenance of differentiated lymphatic endothelium in adults. Binds and activates VEGFR-2 (KDR/FLK1) and VEGFR-3 (FLT4) receptors. [The UniProt Consortium]
