Human Claudin-4, recombinant (VLP)

Recombinant Human Claudin-4 is produced by our Mammalian expression system and the target gene encoding Ala2-Val209 is expressed with a 6His tag at the N-terminus and Flag tag at the C terminus respectively. VLPs are self-assembled from viral envelope/capsid protein and can display conformationally intact membrane protein in natural cell membranes. Protein function: Channel-forming tight junction protein that mediates paracellular chloride transport in the kidney. Plays a critical role in the paracellular reabsorption of filtered chloride in the kidney collecting ducts. Claudins play a major role in tight junction-specific obliteration of the intercellular space, through calcium-independent cell-adhesion activity. [The UniProt Consortium]
