Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) are formed from the nonenzymatic reaction of amino groups with reducing sugars.{38175, 38176, 38177} AGEs have been implicated in diseases, such as diabetes mellitus, non-diabetic nephropathy, macrovascular disease, Alzheimer's disease, cataract, and ageing. {38175, 38176, 38177} AGE receptors, such as the receptor for AGE (RAGE), mediate biological responses to AGEs, including endocytic uptake and degradation and induction of cytokines and growth factors.{38175, 38176, 38177} CML-BSA was produced by incubating BSA with glyoxylic acid and sodium cyanoborohydride.Synonyms: Nepsilon-(1-Carboxymethyl)-L-lysine - Bovine Serum Albumin, Nepsilon-(1-Carboxymethyl)-L-lysine -BSA.
