Chondroitin AC lyase 8A (PhCac8A), assigned the E.C. number 4.2.2.5, is a derivative of Pedobacter heparinus. It is an enzyme that participates in the eliminative degradation of polysaccharides containing 1,4-beta-D-hexosaminyl and 1,3-beta-D-glucuronosyl linkages to disaccharides containing 4-deoxy-beta-D-gluc-4-enuronosyl groupsanhydrobond in the MurNAc residue. The recombinant PhCac8A, purified from Escherichia coli, is a single-domain Pectate Lyase family 8 (PL8) enzyme (see more details at www.cazy.org).The protein is supplied in a solution containing 35 mM NaHepes buffer (pH 7.5), 750 mM NaCl, 200 mM Imidazole, 3.5 mM CaCl2, and 25% (v/v) glycerol, at a concentration of 0,5 mg/mL.
