p-methyl-N-salicyloyl Tryptamine

p-methyl-N-salicyloyl Tryptamine is a neuroprotective agent and derivative of N-salicyloyl tryptamine. It reduces LPS-induced nitric oxide (NO) production in C6 rat glioma cells and BV-2 mouse microglia (IC50s = 7.48 and 4.94 µM, respectively). It also reduces LPS-induced production of TNF-alpha and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2, Cay-14010) and increases production of IL-10 in BV-2 microglia when used at a concentration of 40 µM.
