Epoxyazadiradione

Epoxyazadiradione is a limonoid that has been found in A. indica and has diverse biological activities. It inhibits macrophage migration inhibitor factor (MIF) tautomerase activity (IC50s = 6. 9. and 9. µM for the human, P. falciparum, and P. yoelii enzymes, respectively). Epoxyazadiradione (400 µM) inhibits tau aggregation and induces disaggregation of preformed tau aggregates in cell-free assays. In vivo, epoxyazadiradione (25, 50, and 100 mg/kg) prevents LPS- and P. yoelii MIF-induced IL-6, IL-1alpha, IL-1beta, and TNF-alpha production in mice.
