7-AAD Red Fluorescent Vital Stain

7-Amino actinomycin D Cell Viability Dye (0.26mg) is a non-permeant dye that can be used to identify non-viable cells. Cells with damaged plasma membranes or with impaired/no cell metabolism are unable to prevent the dye from entering the cell. Also useful for chromosome banding studies of cells after fixation. 7-AAD has a maximum absorption at 545nm and a maximum emission at 650nm, allowing for multiplexing with much of the spectrum, including GFP, YFP, and near-infrared dyes.
