L-Carnosine-d4 is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of L-carnosine by GC- or LC-MS. L-Carnosine is an antioxidant. It scavenges singlet oxygen in vitro when used at concentrations ranging from 1.5 to 15 mM.
