Icotrokinra, also known as JNJ-77242113, is a selective antagonist of the IL-23 receptor, with anti-inflammatory properties. As of 2025 it was under regulatory review for the treatment of plaque psoriasis. Further applications can include UC (ulcerite colitis) and other autoimmune disorders. IL-23, a heterodimeric complex composed of p40 and p19, is a proinflammatory cytokine produced by activated macrophages and dendritic cells. This cytokine plays a crucial role in immune responses by promoting the production of interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) by helper T cells and supporting the proliferation of IL-17-secreting CD4+ T cells.
