Bicifadine (hydrochloride)

A SERT, DAT, and NET inhibitor, binds these transporters (Kis = 2.4, 5.2, and 5.4 µM, respectively) and inhibits serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine reuptake in intact cells expressing the human transporters (IC50s = 117, 910, and 55 nM, respectively), increases the mechanical withdrawal threshold in a rat model of acute inflammatory pain induced by subplantar injection of brewer's yeast (ED50 = 9.2 mg/kg), decreases writhing in mouse model of PPQ-induced persistent abdominal pain (ED50 = 13.2 mg/kg), reduces paw licking in the first and second phases of the formalin test in mice and rats when administered 30 minutes prior to formalin.
