BC-1382 is an inhibitor of the protein-protein interaction between E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase HECTD2 and E3 SUMO-protein ligase PIAS1. It inhibits the HECTD2-PIAS1 protein-protein interaction (IC50 = ~5 nM in a pull-down assay) and increases the stability and levels of PIAS1. BC-1382 (10 mg/kg) decreases Tnf and Il-6 levels in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) in mouse models of P. aeruginosa- or LPS-induced pneumonia..
