5-hydroxy-L-Tryptophan

5-hydroxy-L-Tryptophan (5-HTP) is an intermediate in the biosynthesis of serotonin from tryptophan. When injected systemically in animals, 5-HTP is converted to serotonin and has both peripheral and central nervous system effects.
