MRSA Antibiotic 2

An antibiotic, active against the Gram-positive bacteria B. subtilis, S. aureus, and MRSA (MICs = 2, 2, and 4 µg/ml, respectively) but not the Gram-negative bacteria E. coli, A. baumannii, and P. aeruginosa (MICs = >128 µg/ml for all), disrupts the pH gradient of S. aureus and B. subtilis in a proton motive force assay at 32 µg/ml.
