Bafilomycin B1

Bafilomycin B1 is a bacterial metabolite that has been found in Streptomyces and has diverse biological activities. It inhibits the activity of rat liver lysosomal vacuolar H+-ATPase (V-ATPase) in a concentration-dependent manner. Bafilomycin B1 (10-1,000 nM) induces autophagosome accumulation in MCF-7 cells. It inhibits chloroquine-induced apoptosis in primary cerebellar granule neurons (CGNs) when used at a concentration of 1 nM.
