HLA-A*11:01 A549 Cell Line

The HLA-A*11:01 A549 Cell Line is an A549 human lung cancer cell line generated by selecting a single clone of B2M Knockout A549 cells (#82871) transduced with lentivirus expressing B2M (beta-2 microglobulin) HLA (human leukocyte antigen)-A*11:01 driven by an EF1a promoter (#82426). This cell line has been validated by flow cytometry. Purchase of this cell line is for research purposes only, commercial use requires a separate license. Human Leukocyte Antigen-A (HLA-A) is an MHC-I (major histocompatibility complex) heavy chain receptor, composed of HLA-A and beta2-microglobulin (B2M). There are over 200 genes encoding HLA variants and this variability plays a critical role in adaptive immunity. HLA-A*11 is present mostly in East Asia and Oceania and has been linked to pulmonary tuberculosis, leprosy, and cytomegalovirus infection. HLA-A*11:01 is found in individuals with high risk of developing severe influenza. The understanding of the association between HLA alleles and diseases will allow a refinement of therapeutic strategies.
