Human ABCA1 (ATP Binding Cassette Transporter A1) ELISA Kit

The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human ABCA1. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells then with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Human ABCA1. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Human ABCA1, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Human ABCA1 in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve. Protein Function: Catalyzes the translocation of specific phospholipids from the cytoplasmic to the extracellular/lumenal leaflet of membrane coupled to the hydrolysis of ATP (PubMed:24097981, PubMed:35974019). Thereby, participates in phospholipid transfer to apolipoproteins to form nascent high density lipoproteins/HDLs (PubMed:14754908). Transports preferentially phosphatidylcholine over phosphatidylserine (PubMed:24097981). May play a similar role in the efflux of intracellular cholesterol to apolipoproteins and the formation of nascent high density lipoproteins/HDLs (PubMed:10533863, PubMed:14754908, PubMed:24097981, PubMed:35974019).
