Product Description: Ecm29 proteasome adaptor and scaffold (ECPAS) is an adaptor and scaffold protein that binds to the 26S proteasome, motor proteins, and various compartment-specific proteins, facilitating the coupling of the proteasome to different cellular compartments and structures. It plays a crucial role in regulating proteasome localization and mobilization, particularly in neurons and immune cells, by linking the proteasome to microtubules, vesicles, and centrosomes, thereby orchestrating key cellular processes such as actin cytoskeleton remodeling, lysosome trafficking, and antigen extraction during immune synapse formation. Ecm29 also mediates the disassembly of the 26S proteasome in response to physiological stresses like glucose starvation, adapting global proteolysis to cellular needs and countering proteotoxic stress.
