Product Description: C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 11 (CXCL11), also known as I-TAC, is a small cytokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family, encoded by the CXCL11 gene on human chromosome 4. This 73 amino acid protein is primarily expressed in activated T cells and is known for its potent chemotactic properties, particularly towards T cells activated by interleukin-2. CXCL11 interacts with the CXCR3 receptor, exhibiting a higher binding affinity than other ligands such as CXCL9 and CXCL10, which enhances its role in immune responses. Its expression is significantly upregulated by interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) and IL-1, indicating its involvement in inflammatory processes and immune regulation. In terms of disease associations, CXCL11 has been implicated in several conditions, including autoimmune diseases, cancer, and cardiovascular disorders.
