Product Description: Carbohydrate sulfotransferase 2 (CHST2) is an enzyme encoded by the CHST2 gene in humans. It catalyzes the sulfation of non-reducing N-acetylglucosamine residues, specifically transferring sulfate to the 6th position of these residues. CHST2 is involved in the biosynthesis of keratan sulfate and glycosaminoglycan metabolism, playing a role in the formation of the extracellular matrix and connective tissues. The broader family of carbohydrate sulfotransferases (CHSTs) has been implicated in various conditions, including connective tissue disorders, cancer, and inflammation, due to their roles in cartilage and bone formation and the migration of inflammatory and cancer cells.
