Product information "LAMTOR2 (human recombinant)"
Source : Escherichia Coli. LAMTOR2 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 148 amino acids (1-125 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 15.9kDa.LAMTOR2 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. LAMTOR2 is a member of the GAMAD family. LAMTOR2 is highly conserved with a mouse protein linked with the cytoplasmic face of late endosomes and lysosomes. The mouse protein interacts with MAPK scaffold protein 1, which is a component of the mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway. LAMTOR2 gene mutation has been associated with a primary immunodeficiency syndrome in humans, proposing a role for this protein in endosomal biogenesis. Protein function: As part of the Ragulator complex it is involved in amino acid sensing and activation of mTORC1, a signaling complex promoting cell growth in response to growth factors, energy levels, and amino acids. Activated by amino acids through a mechanism involving the lysosomal V-ATPase, the Ragulator functions as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor activating the small GTPases Rag. Activated Ragulator and Rag GTPases function as a scaffold recruiting mTORC1 to lysosomes where it is in turn activated. Adapter protein that enhances the efficiency of the MAP kinase cascade facilitating the activation of MAPK2. [The UniProt Consortium]
