Avidin (HRP) (Lyophilized)

Avidin, synthesized in the hen oviduct, is a glycoprotein of MW 68kD which occupies about 0.05% of the total protein content of the hen egg white. Native avidin is a tetrameric protein composed of four identical subunits. Each subunit is glycosylated at 17-Asparagine. Applications: Suitable for Western Blot, Dot Blot, ELISA, Immunoperoxidase Electron Microscopy and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: 1:100,000, Western Blot: 1:2000-1:10,000, Immunohistochemistry: 1:1000-1:5000, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol, ddH2O. Aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. , Labeled with horseradish peroxidase (HRP). Sodium Azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates.
