It contains no preservatives like azides or Proclin. Annexin V is a member of the annexin family, which binds to phosphatidylserine (PS) in a calcium-dependent manner. The Biotin -conjugated format of this protein, Annexin V- Biotin, binds specifically to the PS displayed on the outer leaflet of apoptotic cell membrane. The signal of Annexin V- Biotin can be collected with flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy to detect cell apoptosis.
