Product information "TGF-beta 1 Protein (recombinant human)"
Protein Construction: Recombinant Human Transforming Growth Factor beta 1 is produced by our Mammalian expression system and the target gene encoding Ala279-Ser390 is expressed. Endotoxin: < 1.0 EU per µg as determined by the LAL method. Apparent Molecular Mass: 13 kDa. Protein function: Transforming Growth Factor ß-1 (TGFß-1) is a secreted protein which belongs to the TGF-ß family. TGFß-1 is abundantly expressed in bone, articular cartilage and chondrocytes and is increased in osteoarthritis (OA). TGFß-1 performs many cellular functions, including the control of cell growth, cell proliferation, cell differentiation and apoptosis. The precursor is cleaved into a latency-associated peptide (LAP) and a mature TGFß-1 peptide. TGFß-1 may also form heterodimers with other TGFß family members. It has been found that TGFß-1 is frequently upregulated in tumor cells. Mutations in this gene results in Camurati-Engelmann disease. Protein function: Transforming growth factor beta-1 proprotein: Precursor of the Latency-associated peptide (LAP) and Transforming growth factor beta-1 (TGF-beta-1) chains, which constitute the regulatory and active subunit of TGF-beta-1, respectively.
