Lipids

Lipids are small, organic molecules, that are usually hydrophobic or amphiphillic. For example, this group includes fats, fatty acids, waxes, triglycerides, sterols and phospholipids. Lipids are the main structural component of biological membranes of all cells. As such, bacterial lipid structures and glycolipids can serve as pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and are recognized by the human immune system. Various lipids and lipid complexes of bacterial origin are therefore used as immunostimulants.

Arachidonic Acid
Arachidonic Acid

Item number: Cay90010-100

Arachidonic acid is an essential fatty acid and a precursor for all prostaglandins, thromboxanes, and leukotrienes. Virtually all cellular arachidonic acid is esterified in membrane phospholipids where its presence is tightly regulated through multiple interconnected pathways. Free arachidonic acid is a transient,...

Resolvin D1
Resolvin D1

Item number: Cay10012554-10

Resolvins are a family of potent lipid mediators derived from both eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA, Cay-90110) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, Cay-90310). In addition to being anti-inflammatory, resolvins promote the resolution of the inflammatory response back to a non-inflamed state. Resolvin D1 (RvD1) is produced...

Item number: Cay18570-1

15-deoxy-Delta12,14-Prostaglandin J2 (15-deoxy-Delta12,14-PGJ2) is formed from PGD2 by the elimination of two molecules of water. It binds selectively to PPARgamma with an EC50 value of 2 µM in a murine chimera system. 15-deoxy-Delta12,14-PGJ2 is more potent than PGD2, Delta12-PGJ2, and PGJ2 in stimulating...
