n-Dodecyl-beta-D-maltoside (DDM) is a non-ionic detergent commonly used to solubilize membrane-associated proteins. In particular, it helps retain the native conformation and activity of membrane-associated proteins, and facilitates the reforming of these proteins after denaturation.
