Anti-Stromal Interaction Molecule 1 (STIM1)

Stromal interaction molecule 1 plays a role in mediating Ca(2+) influx following depletion of intracellular Ca(2+) stores. It acts as Ca(2+) sensor in the endoplasmic reticulum via its EF-hand domain. Upon Ca(2+) depletion, it translocates from the endoplasmic reticulum to the plasma membrane where it activates the Ca(2+) release-activated Ca(2+) (CRAC) channel subunit. Alternate Names: anti-Stromal interaction molecule 1 antibody, anti-STIM1 antibody, anti-GOK antibody , Applications: , Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blotting. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blotting: 1:1000-1:2000. 0.5-2.0 ug/ml. A band is seen at ~77kD, representing the STIM-1 protein. Two other non-specific bands of lower MW can also be seen., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Cellular Localization: Cell membrane, ER membrane. Translocates from ER to cell membrane in response to depletion of intracellular calcium. , Positive Controls: HeLa whole cell lysate , Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
