Product information "Anti-Secretory Leukocyte Protease Inhibitor (SLPI)"
Secretory Leukocyte Protease Inhibitor (SLPI) is a 14kD non-glycosylated protein produced by secretory cells in the respiratory, genital and lacrimal glands, and by macrophages, B-cells and neutrophils. The functions of SLPI are diverse. The SLPI protein inhibits protease activity at sites of inflammation, protecting tissues against protease mediated damage and it possesses anti-microbial/anti-viral activity. In addition, SLPI has been reported to exhibit anti-inflammatory properties, regulating lipopolysaccharide induced activation of NF-kappa beta in peripheral blood monocytes. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml. A band is detected at ~14kD with Daudi cell lysates. , Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.
