Product information "Anti-Protein Gene Product 9.5 (PGP 9.5, PGP9.5, PGP95, Neuron Cytoplasmic Protein 9.5, PARK5, Ubiqui"
Uch-L1 is a 223aa member of ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase family 1 (peptidase family C12) with an ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase domain. Also known as PARK5, this protein is well known for having ubiquitin hydrolase and ligase activities and thus hydrolyzing small C-terminal adducts of ubiquitin to generate ubiquitin monomers. Research reports show that it is also involved in proteasomal degradation, a critical process for neuronal health. Uch-L1 present in all neurons is known to express specifically in neurons and in cells of the diffuse neuroendocrine system and their tumors. Over expression leads to non-small cell lung cancer while decreased expression leads to Huntington disease and Alzheimer disease. Uch-L1 is known to be highly susceptible to Parkinson disease and was found to be differentially expressed in both RCC lesions and RCC cell lines. Hence it may serve as potential biomarker for the diagnosis and prognosis of RCC patients. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Human, mouse, rat brain lysate, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
