Product information "Anti-POU2F1 (POU Domain, Class 2, Transcription Factor 1, NF-A1, Octamer-binding Protein 1, Oct-1, O"
OCT1/OTF1 is a protein belonging to the POU domain of transcription factors. OCT1, Octamer binding transcription factor 1, binds to an octamer motif (5'-ATTTGCAT-3') and activates the promoters of the genes for some small nuclear RNAs (snRNA) and of genes for immunoglobulins. POU domain proteins contain a bipartite DNA-binding domain, which is divided by a flexible linker that enables them to adopt various monomer configurations on DNA. The versatility of POU protein operation is conferred at the dimerization level. POU dimer from the OCT1 gene formed on the palindromic OCT factor recognition element, or PORE, could recruit the transcriptional coactivator OBF1. This octamer sequence within immunoglobulin promoters are sufficient for lymphoid-specific promoter activity in lymphoid cells. OCT1 regulate the expansion and/or maintenance of mature B cells. In its absence mature B-cell pull is strongly reduced. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 3-5ug/ml, Immunohistochemistry (formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 5ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
