Product information "Anti-PION, CT (PION, GSAP, Gamma-secretase-activating protein, Protein pigeon homolog, Gamma-secreta"
Accumulation of neurotoxic amyloid-beta is a major hallmark of Alzheimer disease (AD, MIM 104300). Formation of amyloid-beta is catalyzed by gamma-secretase (see PSEN1, MIM 104311), a protease with numerous substrates. PION, or GSAP, selectively increases amyloid-beta production through a mechanism involving its interaction with both gamma-secretase and its substrate, the amyloid-beta precursor protein (APP, MIM 104760) C-terminal fragment (APP-CTF) (He et al., 2010 [PubMed 20811458]). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, ELISA, Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000, Western Blot: 1:100-500, Immunohistochemistry: 1:10-50, Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap., , Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
