Product information "Anti-Nociceptin (Orphanin FQ)"
Nociceptin is the ligand of the opioid receptor-like receptor (OPRL1). It may act as a transmitter in the brain by modulating nociceptive and locomotor behavior. May be involved in neuronal differentiation and development. Secreted protein, expressed predominantly in the spinal cord and brain, being more abundant in the hypothalamus and striatum. Also found in small amounts in ovary. Specific enzymatic cleavages at paired basic residues probably yield other active peptides besides nociceptin. The N-terminal domain contains 6 conserved cysteines thought to be involved in disulfide bonding and/or processing. Belongs to the opioid neuropeptide precursor family. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1: 1000-1: 3000 , Immunohistochemistry: 1: 1000-1: 3000, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
