Product information "Anti-NaV1.5 (SKM2, Scn5a)"
The protein encoded by this gene is an integral membrane protein and tetrodotoxin-resistant voltage-gated sodium channel subunit. The encoded protein is found primarily in cardiac muscle and is responsible for the initial upstroke of the action potential in an electrocardiogram. Defects in this gene are a cause of long QT syndrome type 3 (LQT3), an autosomal dominant cardiac disease. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding separate isoforms which differ by a single amino acid. Mutation nomenclature has been assigned with respect to the longer isoform. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:100-1:200. Rat heart membranes., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Control Antigen: N0530-18A , Storage and Stability:, Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
