MyoD1 belongs to the basic helix-loop-helix family of transcription factors and the myogenic factors subfamily. It regulates muscle cell differentiation by inducing cell cycle arrest, a prerequisite for myogenic initiation. Myod1 is essential for repair of damaged tissue. It activates its own transcription which may stabilize commitment to myogenesis. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 1:20-1:50. May be used in an ABC method. Requires heat mediated antigen retrieval. Incubate 30-60 minutes at RT., Immunohistochemistry: 1:10-1:500, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at 4°C. Do not freeze. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
