Product information "Anti-Laminin"
Laminin is a protein found in the extracellular matrix, the sheets of protein that form the substrate of all internal organs also called the basement membrane. It is composed of one A chain (400kD) one B1 chain (215kD) and one B2 chain (205kD) all held together by disulfide bonds. The molecule has a cross like form with globular units near the ends of each chain, the sites where it is bound to Collagen IV, heparan sulfate, proteoglycan as well as to the surface of epithelial cells. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin and Frozen): The fixation is routine paraformaldehyde or formalin fixation of tissue prior to paraffin embedding. However, the staining procedure must include an antigen retrieval step pretreating the deparaffinized sections with pepsin. This is required for all laminin antibodies used on paraffin tissue. Mount paraffin sections on Fisher Plus slides. Bake for >2h at 50., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Controls: Basement membranes (blood vessels of any tissue, tumors, nerve). Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
