Product information "Anti-Kv1.3 (Kcna3, Charybdotoxin-sensitive Voltage-dependent Potassium Channel, HLK3)"
Potassium channels represent the most complex class of voltage-gated ion channels from both functional and structural standpoints. Their diverse functions include regulating neurotransmitter release, heart rate, insulin secretion, neuronal excitability, epithelial electrolyte transport, smooth muscle contraction, and cell volume. Four sequence-related potassium channel genes - shaker, shaw, shab, and shal - have been identified in Drosophila, and each has been shown to have human homolog(s). This gene encodes a member of the potassium channel, voltage-gated, shaker-related subfamily. This member contains six membrane-spanning domains with a shaker-type repeat in the fourth segment. It belongs to the delayed rectifier class, members of which allow nerve cells to efficiently repolarize following an action potential. It plays an essential role in T-cell proliferation and activation. This gene appears to be intronless and it is clustered together with KCNA2 and KCNA10 genes on chromosome 1. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:200 using ECL on rat brain membranes., Immunohistochemistry: Rat brain sections, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Control Antigen: K9001-50A Supplied as a lyophilized powder. Reconstitute with 100ul of PBS, pH 7.4., Western Blot Positive Control: 20ng per minigel lane. , Western Blot Negative Control: Preincubate 3ug of fusion protein, Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C for short-term only. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer plus carrier protein (1% BSA).
