Product information "Anti-HMGA1 (High Mobility Group Protein HMG-I/HMG-Y, HMG-I(Y), High Mobility Group AT-hook Protein 1"
HMGA1 is a 107aa protein belonging to the HMGA family and contains 3 A.T hook DNA-binding domains. It plays a role in many cellular processes, including regulation of inducible gene transcription, integration of retroviruses into chromosomes and the metastatic progression of cancer cells. It also functions in nucleosome phasing, in the 3'-end processing of mRNA transcripts and transcription regulation of genes containing, or in close proximity to A+T-rich regions. It influences both the formation and repair of UV-induced DNA lesions in intact cells and is involved in local and global changes in chromatin structure. It acts as a novel molecular determinant of invasiveness and metastasis, as well as a potential therapeutic target, in pancreatic adenocarcinoma. It is methylated in leukemia cells induced to undergo apoptosis. It is expressed in a wide range of cancer cells. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:16,000, Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml, Immunohistochemistry (Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 3.75ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
