Product information "Anti-Glyceraldehyde 3 Phosphate Dehydrogenase (GAPD, GAPDH) (Biotin)"
Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) is one of the key enzymes involved in glycolysis. Though expressed differently in different tissues , GAPDH is thought to be a constitutively expressed housekeeping protein. For this reason, GAPDH is often measured as a control in experiments quantifying specific changes in expression of other targets. Recent evidence suggests that mammalian GAPDH is also involved in a great number of intracellular processes such as membrane fusion, microtubule bundling, phosphotransferase activity, nuclear RNA export, DNA replication, and DNA repair. GAPDH may also play a role in neurodegenerative pathologies such as Huntington's and Alzheimer's disease. Some physiological factors, such as hypoxia and diabetes, increase GAPDH expression in certain cell types. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.1-1.0ug/ml , Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months.
