Product information "Anti-Dihydrostreptomycin, clone 1.BB.891"
The first aminoglycoside was streptomycin. Streptomycin was created from the fungus like bacterium Streptomyces griseus. Streptomycin's ototoxic potential was recognized quite early. In response, researchers modified the drug's molecule and created dihydrostreptomycin. Unlike its predecessor, dihydrostreptomycin is much more cochleotoxic than it is vestibulotoxic. It is almost exactly as cochleotoxic as streptomycin is vestibulotoxic. Dihydrostreptomycin is an antibiotic consisting of a hydrogenated form of streptomycin. It is used against tuberculosis, tularemia and Gram-negative organisms. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:1500, Sensivity is ~100pg/ml when used with included conjugate., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Control Antigen (included): D8035-20A: Dihydrostreptomycin (BSA), Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
